Valhalla Golf Club’s Founding Family’s Legacy Lives on as PGA Championship Makes a Comeback
The Legacy of Valhalla Golf Club: A Family Affair
Campbell Kremer was determined to birdie hole No. 15 every round at the 2018 Boys Junior PGA Championship, but instead, he made bogey each day. Despite this setback, 15 remains Kremer’s favorite hole, with special significance as his grandfather’s ashes were spread over it. The founding family of Valhalla, including Walt Gahm, hired Jack Nicklaus to design the course in 1983. The PGA Championship returns to Valhalla for the fourth time this month, a testament to the legacy created by the Gahm family. Dwight Gahm’s granddaughter, Lindsay Gahm, now a member of Valhalla, is inspired by her family’s vision and dreams for the golf course. The legacy of Valhalla Golf Club continues to live on through the generations, a true testament to the dedication and dreams of the founding family.
